Bring Food Home 2017
Ontario’s Sustainable Food Systems Conference
October 26 – 29, 2017 – Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
Bring Food Home in partnership with the Eastern Ontario Local Food Conference is coming to Ottawa!
Join us in Ottawa during the late autumn harvest of 2017, when Sustain Ontario, the Eastern Ontario Local Food Conference and local host Just Food will Bring Food Home! Local and regional partners are coming together to plan this dynamic conference, where food and farming actors share experience and expertise, build capacity for collaboration and reconciliation within Ontario’s local food networks, and coordinate actions that will lead to sustainable transformations of food systems in Ontario and beyond.
The Bring Food Home conference was born in 2010, and has now had 3 successful conferences that followed in 2011, 2013 and the 2015. The conference held in 2015 was attended by over 250 individuals including farmers, academics, municipal staff, and anti-poverty activists and featured over 35 workshops and presentations on rebuilding the food system through sector-specific initiatives. Building on the incredible success of previous conferences, the 2017 conference promises to, once again, bring hundreds of people together for celebration, collaboration, and innovation.
The three-day conference will be in collaboration with the Eastern Ontario Local Food conference and local hosts Just Food. The conference will include inspiring speakers, local tours, engaging panels, hands-on workshops, and action-planning sessions in addition to networking opportunities and a Feast of Local Flavours. Bring Food Home offers a forum to share experience and expertise, build the capacity and cohesiveness of Ontario’s local food network, and plan and coordinate actions that will direct us in building a better food system in Ontario and beyond.
